By plane:

You can fly in Lodz Airport by Ryainair from: London Stansted, Dublin and East Midlands.

Otherwise you have to fly to Warsaw (Chopin Airport) or Modlin Airport outside Warsaw.

From Chopin and Modlin airports you can take a bus called “Modlin bus”. Tickets are sold online:

The bus ride from Chopin takes 2 hours, and from Modlin 3 hours.

The final stop of the bus is at the Łódź Kaliska station.

From Chopin Airport you can also take a suburban train (you buy the ticket in the machine inside the train), go to Warszawa Zachodnia train station, and catch the train to Lodz (Łódź Kaliska or Łódź Fabryczna). Trains run frequently.

The whole train journey should take up to 2,5 hours.

By train:

Take a train to Lodz (Łódź Kaliska or Łódź Fabryczna).

From Warsaw Central station (Warszawa Centralna) there are connections with major European cities.

In the city:

Taxis are quite cheap. There is also an extensive tram and bus network.

The conference venue (Wydział Filologiczny) is connected with the city by trams no. 12 (passes through Łódź Fabryczna train station and Łódź Kaliska train/bus station) and no. 17.
